There is not TIME in your DAY to remind someone of how wonderful you are. And not in the Tyra Banks Disney Channel movie self-empowerment way, either. In the factual way. In the way that if someone does not speak French, and you are walking around speaking French all day long, it’s just not a fair exchange. You do not have TIME on this EARTH to tread water and slow down to educate some idiot re: why you’re an asset and a treasure and an honor to be around. If he can’t figure it out, he’s a moron.
Done.
Next.
It’s actually that easy. And I know it doesn’t always feel like it, but goddammit you need to fall in love with someone who looks at you and is like, “Holy crap, here is the human! Here is the human that is different from all of the other humans!” and if you’re fucking around with anything less than that, then you’re wasting your own time more than anything else, and as your friend I’m just not going to stand for it. This guy does not love you. You don’t even love him, you just want him to like you because WHY DOESN'T HE?
But at the end of the day, fuck it, my angel.
Fuck it, and fuck him, you do not have TIME in your DAY to solve extra credit math problems.
You are too busy being wonderful.

Just Don't...
I absolutely HATE it when people have conversations in front of my desk. Especially when they are both creepy, yet somehow full of themselves men. So what if I'm not doing anything important? Don't ramble on for 10 minutes directly in front of me talking about "all the girls I have" and "when I say 'my girls' I'm not referring to my daughters because I don't have any".
I just threw up in my mouth.
I just threw up in my mouth.

Flirting
I love it

It's just a little crush
Not like I faint every time we touch
It's just some little thing
Not like everything I do depends on you

Moving On
"There's nothing half so pleasant as coming home again."
Margaret Elizabeth Sangster
This weekend, my Sister will be moving out of the home she has built for the last 6 years. I was living with her at the time when she moved into the house, and I remember our first day there like it was yesterday. I even remember recording bits and pieces of that day on a video camera that belonged to my boyfriend at the time. We had a bunch of family members over to help with the move, we used my Uncle's diesel work truck to get everything over in one load and I even got a job down the street that first week there which made our new home that much more exciting. Even though I don't live there anymore and it's just my Sister and her family who have actually been living there day in and day out, the house has been a home to our entire family the last 6 years. There's been numerous barbeques, birthday parties, Christmas Eves, Thanksgivings, and Halloweens in this house. Where all of our family & friends were always welcome even when my Sister and her family weren't there, like recently when she was driving back from Chicago and we all made ourselves at home and hung out waiting for them to get back.
This is definitely going to be a bittersweet week helping her pack and see the walls and rooms empty little by little. I'm happy for my sister that she's found a bigger and nice house for her family. Especially since they grew from a family of 5 to a family of 8. I just realized I seem to be having a hard time letting go emotionally of this house because it feels like when she leaves the house, we're leaving all of the memories behind that were made there. From living there during the passing of my Dad in 2005, then moving to San Diego shortly after only to be back home in less than 3 months. When my very first car was stolen from the front yard too and I remember how upset I was when the cops found it completely stripped down. Remembering how I constantly used my Sister's ID to sneak into bars & clubs to hangout with my brothers & cousins or to buy beer for my friends when we'd hangout all night. Where I experienced my first serious heart break from an old boyfriend and having it broke the second time when our dog Petey ran away. When my nephew Rudy was just a wee little new born, to my Sister finding out she was pregnant two more times, the second time with twins. To just every other day when I stop by after work and hangout with her kids playing Donkey Kong or goofing around on the trampoline.
I've had a key to this house since the first day we moved in and now it's time to give it back. I just gotta keep reminding myself that in your heart is where you carry memories forever. Plus I'm sure we're going to make many more great ones in her new home and her new neighbors will hate us just as much as the current ones do.
Five Inches
Normally us ladies aren't gonna cry over 5 inches, right? But lately every time I search the Internet, all I see is five inches and I'm a little disappointed deep down inside...
Almost all of the cute shoes out there have five inch heels now...
Get your mind outta the gutter, perv.
I get it that us women all want to be a little taller and feel sexier in high heels, but what about the people who are challenged in the "Foot-Eye Coordination" department like myself? I am very clumsy and I will trip over absolutely nothing at any time... even when I'm not wearing shoes. I love wearing heels and buying the sky high ones, but I don't want ALL of my heels being sky high (and I most definitely do NOT want my feet looking like nasty ass VBeckham feet, barf). Those Blue pumps I recently purchased are 5 inches and I love them because they are blue and sky high which makes them unique and sexy. But now every time I'm doing research for my next shoe purchase, Ive noticed a trend with the 5 inches or more in lots of really cute heels. Now my Blue pumps are super comfy cause they have a nice thick platform and I've gotten used to walking in them, BUT while wearing them I have to be super conscious about every single move I make and examine the floor ahead of me to make sure I have a clear walking path. This past weekend I made the mistake of not caring about the big rocks on the sidewalk outside of my house and of course fell. Thank God I wasn't in public yet! I'm just saying it's nice to be comfortable enough in heels that are semi-high like 4 inch, but you don't have to super conscious walking around in.
Another reason why I don't like this new sky high trend is cause I want to be able to wear my heels to work too, not just while I'm being a diva everywhere else. And for some reason I feel like maybe 5 inch heels are not super appropriate for the office. Anyone else feel me here? I've seen some super cute Mary Jane heels that I fell in love with and wanted to buy for work, but I feel like if I were to wear them to work, some of my executive coworkers (who are mostly Mormon) might think I've turned trick.
Can anyone recommend any stores/websites with cute but not so sky high heels? Secrets don't make friends now ladies!!

Cold Turkey Pt. 2
So you want to hear what awesome things happened while I boycotted Facebook for this last week?!?
Nothing...
I painted my nails a cool blue color.
Nothing.
People at work were told they aren't going to have a job in 2 weeks :(
....and more nothing.
Ok wait, that's kind of a lie. Something awesome did happen to me but not like what I was expecting. I didn't get promoted because I was way more productive, I didn't paint and organize my room like I need to and I didn't stumble upon a briefcase full of money because I wasn't looking down at my phone updates...
After my first day of serious withdrawals, I went into the kitchen in the morning for my cup of coffee as normal and found myself talking to an employee about hiking and then about his bad knee and some surgery he had on it, then about his kids. When I walked away, I started thinking about how many older people I work with (and not like, OLDER as in needing a walker, they're just older than me and in their 40's-50's) and how I really don't know much about any of them outside of work. I kinda just imagined these people to only exist at work, then they disappear off the face of the earth until 8am the next workday. And I mean that in the nicest way possible, now that I'm typing it out it seems a little harsh... I just forget that they also have their own lives and families and problems.
On a day to day basis, there's about 90 people here and I am close to about 10-12 of them, meaning I talk with them regularly and know a little about them & their personal lives. These are the people who do not disappear at 5pm because I've hung out with them outside of work so I know they're not imaginary (my imaginary friends are way more fun, but don't tell my coworkers I said that). So I decided with all of this extra time I've been having at work, I'd make it a point to start talking more to people who I normally don't talk to and asking more penetrating questions than the usual "How are you today?", "Is it Friday yet?", and "Have you seen my boss?". It's probably making some of them uncomfortable that I'm digging more into their personal lives, but most of them seem to enjoy talking about it cause I've been caught up in a few long conversations and they've even come up to my desk after to talk to me more. They like the penetration.
Without being so caught up on Fb I've learned that it's good idea to develop real relationships with the people I encounter almost everyday of my life instead of focusing all of my time on my Internet pals, especially since a group of people won't even be here in another two weeks. Maybe we're not like BFF status, but still it's nice to have someone else at work to talk with on a personal level. I guess all of my older coworkers are not these career focused zombies as I've imagined them to be.
