Happy 100th Birthday Arizona

I am in love with my home state Arizona.
Our summers may be hot & dry, but that just means there's more opportunities for fun things to do outside and the rest of our year is unbelievable weather. We can take a 2 hour drive up North to Sedona or Flagstaff to cool off with a gorgeous scenery or make it an extra couple of hours to see the Grand Canyon. We may not have an ocean front view, but we are 4 hours from a Mexican beach & 5 hours from a California beach. If you're feelin' lucky, Sin City is only a short 4 hour drive away for a weekend adventure.

I've always said I want to travel the world and move to different places, but Arizona will always be my Home. Just the scenery of it all is what makes me appreciate it more... like the sunset, it never ceases to amaze me especially with all of the mountain surroundings.

The only bad thing I can honestly say about Arizona, is the people that move here from out of state and constantly complain about it. So after I kindly tell them to go back where they came from if they hate it that much, I can go back to admiring my amAZing home.

Showin' The Love

My work sure knows how to show their love for their employees. This morning we had a special treat waiting for us upon our arrival...
Heart Balloons At Everyone's Desk
Donuts, Chocolate & Coffee
Adorable Napkins
Valentine Card Station
Cubicle View
Holdin' Down The Love

On top of all the lovely office decorations, we had breakfast catered & free massages set up for this afternoon.
Not only was this a super sweet treat for us, but it really did put me in a better mood being a single gal on this Lover's Day.
Happy Valentine's Day xoxo

No Matter How Far Wrong You've Gone, You Can Always Turn Around

So I came upon a friend's Facebook status that was quite inspirational to me and I felt the need to share it.
So today's lesson was this: I don't have to be happy with someone to help them. It is my responsibilty to help others. When I was driving home from my "errand" I wanted to cry - not because of anything bad but rather because I rememeber how many people helped me before I got sober (they didn't trust me) but they still helped me. So, is it not my responsibilty to pass that on to someone else? Of course it is. I am grateful to be sober and to have loving friends in my life and what I want these people to know is that there is Hope! That despite their best thinking and actions - there are people who care and who will help! I hope they get the message and I hope they get this deal. But today I get the message and I am willing!!! -K.W.

I have never struggled with a drug addiction myself or maybe you haven't, but I'm pretty sure we all know at least one person who is that is near to our hearts. I don't know what her "errand" was in this status, but this made me realize that we should never give up on those who are struggling with addictions. I personally know how it feels to be emotionally drained from someone who struggles with an addiction, and how you reach the point where you want to just give up on trying for them because you feel like they are not trying for themselves.
Don't do it, don't ever give up on them. It is our responsibility to love, support and believe in one another.

Over the last month, I've been through some experiences that made me realize we're only here for a certain amount of time. Use your time doing good for others and never stop believing that people cannot turn their lives around no matter how far they've gone down the wrong path.

Life can seem meaningless if we have no one to love us, so love those in need like there's no tomorrow.

Still my all time favorite Alicia Keys video, so powerful

Gee Whizz

Everyday I read that more and more single people are confessing that they don't see themselves getting married or settling down. Our generation has reached the point where we believe it is better to be successful in our careers than to be successful emotionally. What the hell is happening to us? Like I know we're going through this economic recession and money problems get people down, dating is expensive, but is it really consuming our wallets and our hope? Are we living through an economic recession or is it an emotional recession?
Maybe it's not the economy. Maybe it's our generation. Our parents and grandparents grew up to believe that a successful life was about falling passionately in love with someone, having great friends, starting a family, and having a good job to support your loved ones. I feel like now it's all backwards and so many people have given up on finding someone to feel passionately about because our main priority is to "succeed" with a career then if we have time, we'll find someone who will love us. I understand that people want to have financial stability which requires education and hard work, but are we being so brainwashed to be workaholics and money focused that we are forgetting the meaning of life? I was raised to believe that you surround yourself with those you love and you find a way to make it through thick and thin, but the main thing was to Love. Maybe I'm sounding like a complete hopeless romantic right now, but I refuse to give up on finding love.
I guess that's what I get for watching stupid romantic comedies... Whatever.

A Part of me wishes this is where she would've left it off with Big. I still don't think he's right for her. These last two episodes are my favorite!! And this is my favorite scene! The dialogue, the dress and the DISS! Sorry Big lovers!

Words of Wisdom

There is not TIME in your DAY to remind someone of how wonderful you are. And not in the Tyra Banks Disney Channel movie self-empowerment way, either. In the factual way. In the way that if someone does not speak French, and you are walking around speaking French all day long, it’s just not a fair exchange. You do not have TIME on this EARTH to tread water and slow down to educate some idiot re: why you’re an asset and a treasure and an honor to be around. If he can’t figure it out, he’s a moron.
Done.
Next.
It’s actually that easy. And I know it doesn’t always feel like it, but goddammit you need to fall in love with someone who looks at you and is like, “Holy crap, here is the human! Here is the human that is different from all of the other humans!” and if you’re fucking around with anything less than that, then you’re wasting your own time more than anything else, and as your friend I’m just not going to stand for it. This guy does not love you. You don’t even love him, you just want him to like you because WHY DOESN'T HE?
But at the end of the day, fuck it, my angel.
Fuck it, and fuck him, you do not have TIME in your DAY to solve extra credit math problems.
You are too busy being wonderful.

Bad Romance

I believe the biggest mystery to us all is the human heart. We've all been in that shitty relationship that has this immense force over us leaving us powerless to get up & leave for our own well being. Some of us stay because we think it will get better, some stay because we're scared of having to start all over with someone new and venture into the unknown, and some of us stay because we would rather be with an asshole and feel a constant pain of love than to be alone & feel nothing at all. Maybe it's all of those reasons. Whatever your reason for staying, you learn that Love is a powerful drug we are all junkies for... And just trying to get your fix can turn you into a ray of sunshine or into a cloud of sorrow.

“The human heart dares not stay away too long from that which hurt it most. There is a return journey to anguish that few of us are released from making.” - Lillian Smith

Fall in Love

Knock knock.
Who's there?
Fall.
Fall who?
Fallgetaboutiiiiiit.
(I had to give myself props for just making that up)

Hooray for the first day of fall!! I love this time of year for three reasons:
  1. Cooler weather
  2. The beautiful colors that take over nature
  3. Fall Fashion!!
Although at first I was sad to see Summer come to an end, I've remembered the many pros of Fall and why it is my favorite time of year! Cooler weather equals: Scarves, Mary Jane heels, Plaid, Red lipstick, Cheetah print, Knee length coats, Sweaters, Boots and the list goes on and on and on! I came across this pic from Casa Bella and it totally put me in a cheery Fall fashion mood. Totally.

Hooooorayyyyyy for Fall! :)
