Viva la tomboy!!

So I have a few confessions for y'all this Wednesday.

Okay my first confession which may or may not be a shocker, is that I've always been somewhat of a tomboy most likely due to the fact that I grew up with the boys. I was brainwashed that girls can and will be  toyed with by a boy they like so I needed to beat them to their own game and if I liked a boy, the best way to show him was to just be a jerk. Also, never let my brothers/ cousins find out about him for the sake of his life. Another "important lesson" I learned from their manner was that my feelings should never be expressed (especially if they're sentimental) because that would be considered whining or just inappropriate.
But besides all of this information my brain was soaking up like a sponge in water, I've always enjoyed doing things boys like to do. I played outside allllllllll day, rode around on Rollerblades or bikes, played out war scenes, and I was obsessed with walkie talkies and Hot Wheels & their awesome tracks. Even in high school, I would watch ESPN for an hour without realizing that none of my brothers or their friends were even around, so I could've actually changed the channel if I wanted to, but I didn't. I remember I would always steal my brother's shirts and wear them cause they were way more comfortable than the tight and figure flattering clothes girls were supposed to wear. Then I would get a Charley horse when they couldn't find their shirt the next day or spotted me in school walking around in it. It didn't make sense to me to get dressed super cute for school just so I could sit all day uncomfortably instead of in a loose & cozy T-shirt, so I chose to be comfy at the expense of my brothers not having many clean shirts and my legs being bruised up for a day or two.
Yeah, this was pretty much me back in the day.
Even though a little bit of that tomboy still lives inside me, I still have my ultra girly moments like squealing over a insanely cute pair of heels that I tell myself I MUST have or hoard numerous amounts of eyeshadow and nail polishes or just being a shopaholic. But today I felt the tomboy in me make an extreme comeback, read on...

Well, this morning I had a big breakfast so of course by the time lunch was upon me I was still not hungry (don't worry, that's not my other confession). In times like this I always head to the nearest shopping plaza to get out of the office and "window shop" to get an idea of what I want to purchase when I do have money to splurge (I quoted window shop because sometimes I reason with myself that a pair of pants or shoes are truly more important than eating lunch for a week. I know, I have a problem; tell me something I don't know).
I digress as usual; Okay so now that summer is upon us in this lovely city of Phoenix, I have been trying to find non-work attire that covers pretty much just the basics (boobs & butt) because when it's 106 degrees outside like today, I could walk around in a bikini (if I was comfortable enough to) and still feel like I have too much clothing on. -What's with all the parenthesis in my sentences? I don't know, I have a lot of side notes for you. You're welcome-
So today I did something I haven't done since my high school days... I shopped for MYSELF in the young men's section (there it is finally, 2nd confession)!! It was honestly a little surprising at how much neon pink, purple and orange was on the racks, but I guess those are just fun summer colors that anyone can wear. Also, it was kind of funny going into the fitting room at the same time as some teenage boy with almost the same exact shirt he was trying on. But yes, I did get a couple of tank tops to sport around this summer that are still figure flattering (just not holding onto my torso for dear life, which will make me even more hot and cranky) that I can throw a cute cami under to have that spiffy surfer girl look.

This is definitely one reason I'm glad I am a girl, 'cause I don't know how many straight men can walk into the Junior's or Women's sections in a store and find something that will look good on them... well, besides skinny jeans lol.

Perfect tomboy weekend attire

Holla for a Dolla!

I love the dollar store. So much junk in there you never knew you needed until you see it's only a buck! Yesterday I hit two different dollar stores and have amusing stories about each of them.

Dolla Holla Mission 1: Christmas decorations for office
Since we are being forced to have some Holiday office cheer this year, I was instructed to go get cheap decorations to spiff up my lobby because having a tree wasn't enough. So a coworker and I hit Dollar Tree and the main thing I was in search for were a couple of boxes of cheap lights to hang around my desk. I see the lights they have and on the box it said 5.1ft so I figured two boxes would be plenty. When we return to the office, I unravel the lights only to find out I've been bamboozled. I asked my coworker how tall I look and she says about 5'4 to which I reply "Well apparently I must be as tall as Lamar Odom to the Dollar Tree". Cot damn lights are only about 3 feet long and there's 2 feet of just cord and to top it off, there's no damn connector at the end to hook up another set. These kinds of details should be specified!! I guess that's why they're only a dollar.

Dolla Holla Mission 2: Help my niece combine a Secret Santa gift for under $5
My Secret Santa niece needed some help on what to get her friend for under $5, so I told her we'd go to the dollar store and make a little basket of gifts. We picked out nail polishes, nail polish remover, cotton balls, and nail files and put them in a cute Christmas bucket, boom. 5 bucks. During our hunt, we stumbled upon the Dog section with food, treats, leashes and then... stripper dog clothes for small dogs. Seriously. There were cheetah prints, sparkles, glitter and SHEER shirts. Does a dog really need a sheer shirt with zebra print and sequins on it so you can see through it and think to yourself "That is one sexy little bitch"??? Actually, does anyone really need a shirt like that? The answer is no. So needless to say, my sister and I couldn't resist but to buy 2 of these outfits for her Chihuahuas (which are like my children) to help them stay warm in their doghouse. I know what you're thinking, and the answer is YES! Of course we did a family photo shoot!!
Happy Holidays!! Love Cocoa, Chapo & Gina

I Want A Boat

So everyone can look at me, cause I'll be sailin' on a boat!

I have this obsession with nautical striped shirts. I absolutely love them. When I wear one, it makes me feel like I should be on a small boat sailing (without getting sea sick) with the wind blowing my hair perfectly away from my face saying things like "Ahoy mate" and "Heading starboard" and "Where's the rum?". What's funny is that my sister in law told me just the other day that my brother has nothing but striped shirts too. Guess it runs in the fam.

Here's my ideal striped shirt outfit complete with oh so cute wedges!

Some people say horizontal stripes are not flattering for someone who's "full figured",  well I say if you feel confident in it, who gives a rat's ass what other people say or think? Now I realize the nautical stripes are more of a Spring/ Summer fashion look, but I like to squeeze mine in year round. This sweater looks super cozy for Fall / Winter and I want it now like Veruca with the goose laying golden chocolate eggs!

On another note, I guess if I never get a boat I could just go to prison. Stripes erry day! Yeah yeauuhhh!

Random thought

I've always heard women say that their feet grew after each kid...

I don't think I ever want kids now, I have too many cute shoes I've invested in this year!!

I think I found...

Heaven on the interwebs.

Please forgive me if this is really old news to everyone, but it's NEW to me so I'm pretty stoked about it!

Say You (me) just bought a pair of red skinny jeans and I'm You're not quite sure what all they would look cute with besides my Your black tops? Search whatever item (shirt, shoes, necklace, colors) you want and find something on there that is close enough to what you own or are thinking about owning, click it and it shows all kinds of different outfits you could rock with those red skinnies or gray pumps.

This is what it came up with when I searched the red skinny jeans:

You can even create "sets" aka outfits & accessories with the single clothing articles they have, like just the black pumps or just the striped shirt.
Now I noticed that almost all of the items on this site are for people who must just shit money on a daily basis because I seen a shirt for like $1100 and thought 'Oh hell to the Nawwww!' But obviously my poor ass is not shopping on this site, just using it for super cute outfit ideas.

Anyone else just as excited as me or know of other sites like this?
